First Private School to win a UIL Championship!
Dallas Jesuit vs. Houston Strake Jesuit will face off for the Boys 5A State Championship. Can't say I am a big soccer fan but I have been following this playoff with interest. I see it as a victory regardless who wins so:
GO JESUIT!

Soccer is growing, but I don't forsee an investigation until one of them wins the state football title :-). Strake had a pretty good run a couple of years ago on the gridiron.

I do remember last year when Strake made it to the UIL final four in basketball ... I was on a cruise in the Caribean and some loudmouth on the tour bus is railing on how the private schools have taken over the UIL ...
I guess soccer is a commie pinko sport, so this won't make much of a blip on the radar ...

Congrats to Dallas Jesuit for the first UIL team championship for a private school.
The Dallas Morning News predicted a lot of UIL folks will not be happy about it but then made the statement that Jesuit doesn't have to recruit since players will show up. The DMN also pointed out that the same thing happens when parents move to school districts with excellent football programs for their kids. The point is good programs don't have to recruit "build it and they will come"

You sure that it wasn't dynamite that brought down Texas Stadium, or was it the outrage from UIL public school coaches that a private school won a UIL title?
